High Chief Sir (Dr.) Amb. Anthony Ikenna Obele, popularly known as Okwunze Aguata, has been honoured with the prestigious “Uncommon Philanthropist Award” at the 2026 Nollywood Europe Golden Awards (NEGA), in recognition of his outstanding humanitarian service, community development initiatives, and sustained commitment to improving the lives of others.
The award was presented on stage by His Excellencies Ambassador Senator Ita Enang LL.D, OFR, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Germany; Ambassador Wahab A. Akande, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Switzerland; Consul General Ambassador Dr Yakubu A. Dadu of the Nigeria Consulate General in Frankfurt am Main, Germany; and Elder Antonio Ajibola. The NEGA prestigious award recipient, High Chief Sir (Dr.) Amb. Anthony Ikenna Obele is a respected industrialist, humanitarian, community leader and philanthropist, whose remarkable journey has been defined by compassion, generosity and selfless service to humanity. As Chairman of Mekens Integrated Nigeria Ltd, he has leveraged his success in business to support numerous humanitarian and community-development initiatives.
