AMAA calls for submissions for 17th edition

AMAANominations for the 17th edition will be announced on September 30, 2021.
Submissions have opened for the 17th edition of the prestigious Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) ahead of the award ceremony slated for November 2021.
Filmmakers across Africa can now submit their feature, short, animation and documentary works for consideration in the award's categories. Early submissions has been scheduled to end on May 31 and July 31 for late entries. The latest call for submissions is open only to films produced and released between January 2020 and July 31, 2021

2Baba award 4Pulling off the recent 2Face concert in Frankfurt would count as a major achievement of Isaac Izoya, founder and director of Nollywood Film Festival Germany NFFG and Nollywood Europe Golden Awards NEGA.
Rumours had been circulating that the Afrobeats legend would not show up at the Gala Night of the twin events ostensibly because he was indisposed.
Even when 2Baba Idibia (aka 2Face Idibia) had already arrived Frankfurt and checked into his room at the 5-star Marriott Hotel and video recordings of his arrival in Germany had gone viral on social media, doubting Thomases were still unconvinced.

Nollywood Film Festival Germany and NEGA Awards since 2012

We are the organizers of Nollywood Film Festival Germany – NFFG (AfroNews/Ortel Mobile 2021 - "The Best African Festival in Germany" award winner), a viable platform designed for Nollywood (African) film makers to showcase their movies to Europeans and Nollywood fans in the Diaspora – (a confirmed educational tools of learning African culture by African children in the Diaspora) and Nollywood Europe Golden Awards - NEGA Awards, which comes up as a closing ceremony of NFFG event.

The biggest celebration of Nollywood in a double-packed festival in Germany! NFFG & NEGA are two rare opportunities of meeting and winning with Nollywood Mega stars and stake holders annually.
We have been organizing these events since 2014 in, Frankfurt, Germany in alliance with Hessen State Ministry of Arts and Culture – (Städt Frankfurt Kulturamt), The Ministry of Multicultural Affairs (Amt für multikulturelle Angelegenheiten - AMKA), Ethiopian Airlines, Nigeria Embassy – Berlin, Germany, the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria - Frankfurt, Germany and of course, the Nigeria Community Frankfurt Am Main e.V among others.

 

NEGA Awards - is designed to honour Nollywood stakeholders, stars, comedians, musicians (both in Africa and in the Diaspora) which has also been expanded to recognize the artistic bias of outstanding politicians and business men and women both in Africa and beyond but whose actions in the area of culture and tourism sector, have directly or indirectly impacted upon Africans and other continent outside the scope of Africa countries and the Nigeria film industry in particular, thereby shaping what it has grown to become today.

 
CRITERIA
Unless a special waiver is granted, films must comply with the following conditions in order to be selected: have been made during the last 24 months preceding the Festival It is possible to send a working copy of the film. When filling out the entry form, please state if it is the final version or a working version. – The Selection Committee only screens the films in DVD (PAL). – Both Blu-Ray DVD and DCP are acceptable for cinema screening.
 

SUBTITLES
The Blu-Ray DVD or DCP must be subtitled in English If the original version of the film is not in English.

CONDITIONS
Only Nollywood films that meet the following conditions may be chosen for invitation to the official Screening: • Films that have been produced during the twenty four months preceding the Festival • Films distribution is limited to its country of origin • Films that have not been shown on the Internet and TV.

FILM DURATION
In order to be selected as NFFG film, your film must not exceed 120 minutes in length, including credits. The NFFG Festival does not accept a film that is bellow 70 minutes including credits.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE
A deadline for registration is May 15th, 2022. (By this date, the registration form below must have been filled out and validated). One of the accepted formats for NFFG films submitted for selection must be received by the Festival not later than May 31st, 2022.

FILM SELECTED
Those whose films pass the quality assessment test and make the final list will be invited to the screening of their films at the NOLLYWOOD FILM FESTIVAL GERMANY – NFFG 2022 with world press in attendance. You will be contacted by NFFG department before the official press conference, which will take place towards end of June 2022. You must supply us either a DCP (Digital Cinema Package) with a JPEG 2000 file or a 35mm print, HDCAM / HDCAM-SR, Beta SP (Pal) or Digital Beta (Pal), Blu-Ray Disc + 3 standards DVD or online link. The Film Department will give you all the necessary information on time, only if your film is selected.

SHIPPING
The print is admitted into Germany under the customs control of temporary admittance. All transportation costs, as well as the shipping agent’s fee and insurance are entirely borne by the producer or the sender. It is recommended to contact the shipping agent directly before dispatching the film, in order to enquire about pricing and to ensure that the whole operation runs smoothly.

SUBTITLING
The Screening Committee will accept to screen a film:
• WITHOUT subtitles IF the original language is English.
• WITH other languages but subtitles in English.

NOTE
It is possible to present a working copy of the film but the submission of a final copy must not exceed the deadline.

BIG BOOST FOR NOLLYWOOD FESTIVAL IN GERMANY 2022, NIGERIAN CONSUL THROWS IN WEIGHT.

Izoya and Amb WahabNollywood Film Festival Germany and its sister event Nollywood Europe Golden Awards (NFFG/NEGA) got a very big boost yesterday – 7th January, 2022 when the organisers and patrons of Frankfurt based Ehizoya Golden Entertainment led by Isaac Izoya Cultzral Ambassador paid a courtesy call on the Consul General of Nigeria in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, His Excellency, Ambassador Wahab A. Akande.

The meeting was to intimate His Excellency, Amb Akande of the grand plans for the 2022 edition of the festival, the first edition after the COVID 19 strike themed; Unlocking all possibilities.
