Frankfurt is set to Host Africa’s Biggest Nollywood Celebration as Top Stars, political heavyweights, Business Leaders and Dignitaries are warming up to Converge for the 2026 edition of Nollywood Film Festival Germany (NFFG) and Nollywood Europe Golden Awards (NEGA).
Frankfurt am Main, Germany; The stage is set for an unforgettable celebration of African cinema, culture and excellence as the Nollywood Film Festival Germany (NFFG) and the Nollywood Europe Golden Awards (NEGA) 2026 return to Frankfurt on 31 July to 1st of August 2026, bringing together some of Nollywood’s biggest stars, distinguished diplomats, political leaders, renowned business personalities and film enthusiasts from across Europe, Africa and beyond.
Organised by Ehizoya Golden Entertainment e.V. under the leadership of Cultural Ambassador Isaac Izoyawith the unwavering supports of Nigerian Consulate General, Frankfurt Am Main, Ministry of Arts and Culture (Städt Kulturamt) Frankfurt am Main, Deutsches Filminstitute Filmmuseum (DFF), Nollywood Practitioners Europe and Edo Union e.V, Frankfurt. This year’s double-pack event promises two days of outstanding film screenings, celebrity interactions, networking and prestigious NEGA awards Gala-Nite, further strengthening the cultural bridge between Africa and Europe.
Some of renown personalities expected at the opening ceremony and the Gala-Nite respectively are; the host Ambassador His Excellency CG Dr. Yakubu A. Dadu PhD, Hon. Okaeben the Honourable Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Edo State, Hon. Omorede Osifo, Ex-Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, the permanent secretary Mrs. Iryn Omorogiuwa, Hon. Justice Ugoumokunmo Peters Kekemeke with his amiable wife Mrs Roseline Kekemeke, Ms. Svetlana Svyatskaya, Head of Film, Visual Media, and Digitization at Frankfurt’s Ministry of Arts and Culture (Kulturamt), Abubakar Sanusi Yakubu, the president of Actor Guild of Nigeria (AGM), Chief, Ambassador, Dr. Anthony Obele, Chairman of Mekens Nigeria Ltd, Stella Dimoko Korkus veteran Nigeria journalist, Charles Osetohamen Uagboe, a distinguished finance and business professional (Banker) based in Denmark, Dr. Lauretta Achudume from Abuja, Nigeria, Unique Essex Ladies UK, Nollywood AGM UK and Dr. Engr. Festival Opening – Friday, 31 July 2026 (5pm prompt)

The festival will officially open with the screening of the highly anticipated feature film “A Visit to Ward 4,” a moving faith-based drama about ten-year-old Ella, who courageously battles cancer with unwavering faith and hope. As she shares her visions of Jesus, her extraordinary strength inspires her family and everyone around her. The film beautifully explores the powerful relationship between faith, love, hope, and modern medicine in the face of life’s greatest challenges. Produced by acclaimed Nollywood actress and filmmaker Rosabelle Andrews and directed by Tony Edozie.
The compelling production features outstanding performances by Anthony Woode, Rosabelle Andrews and Emmanuella Appah.
Following the screening, audiences will enjoy an exclusive interactive session featuring the film’s producer and lead actress, Rosabelle Andrews, who will sign autographs, meet fans and participate in a live question-and-answer session.
The festival’s second feature presentation on opening day will be “Follow Me To Forever,” produced and directed by Eric Stephenson. A powerful business mogul pushes her son into an alliance with a rival’s daughter to secure a legacy. But when he falls for the cleaner’s daughter instead, love and ambition collide, forcing a battle where power, loyalty, and the heart’s true desires are put to the test.
The film star some of Nollywood’s finest talents, including Chimezie Imo, Chioma Nwosu, Faith Ayemoba, and Chelsea Efebo, and is expected to captivate audiences with its powerful storytelling and exceptional performances.

The second and final day of the festival will begin with the screening of “Paradise Africa,” produced and directed by Olabisi Akinbinu.
The film features notable performances by Obehi Aburime, Atlanta Bridget Johnson, Cynthia Clark, and other accomplished actors.
The evening will then transform into the spectacular Nollywood Europe Golden Awards (NEGA) Gala Night, where outstanding individuals who have distinguished themselves in entertainment, business, public service and community development will be honoured for their remarkable contributions.
Among the prestigious award recipients are celebrated Nollywood stars:
Nosa Rex Okunzuwa, Rosabelle Andrews and Bob-Manuel Udokwu.
Also to be honoured is renowned billionaire businessman and uncommon philanthropist, Chief Ambassador Dr. Anthony Ikenna Obele, Hon. Justice Ugoumokunmo Peters Kekemeke, Hon. Christopher Okaeben, the Honourable Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Edo State, Charles Osetohamen Uagboe and Aimieyekagbon Pius aka Amin Man.
The glamorous Gala Night is expected to attract an impressive gathering of distinguished personalities, including members of the Diplomatic Corps, government officials, captains of industry, entrepreneurs, academicians, filmmakers, investors, traditional leaders, cultural organisations and community leaders from across Europe and Africa.

Europe-based artists will entertain guests at the Gala/Nite before Nigerian visiting superstars take centre stage.
The celebration will reach its climax with electrifying live performances by celebrated Afrobeat entertainers Amin Man and Emperor Wadada, whose performances will set the stage for an unforgettable after-party celebration.
Reassuring guests expected from across Europe and around the world, the host Ambassador, His Excellency, Consul General, Dr. Yakubu A. Dadu, said in a recent interview with Ehizoya Diary that all Nollywood fans and lovers of African culture are warmly invited to Frankfurt for the Nollywood Film Festival Germany (NFFG) and the Nollywood Europe Golden Awards (NEGA) 2026. Reflecting the organisers’ commitment to delivering an exceptional Gala Night experience, a prestigious event venue valued at over €10,000 has been secured. Meanwhile, the festival’s partner hotels (Adagio Apartment Hotel and Savoy Hotel) are reportedly fully booked, with many guests travelling from outside Germany to attend the highly anticipated event.

The Nollywood Film Festival Germany and Nollywood Europe Golden Awards continue to serve as an important international platform promoting African films, celebrating creative excellence, encouraging investment in the creative economy and strengthening cultural diplomacy between Africa and Europe.
